Residential GSHPs have many advantages over air-source heat pumps. Longer life, lower maintenance, and no noise. The disadvantage is the high cost of ground loop (either verticle or horizontal). However, if yor consider the rising cost of energy and federal and state tax credits,the savings from the GSHP will repay the investment in about 9 years.
