While it is replacing some devices, it is also creating a 2nd computer for people as it is not powerful enough to act as a primary computer. It's not as if people will all turn off their computers more often just because they now have a secondary computer. It may also be starting the trend of having these tablet computers located in more and more places. Just think of Bill Gates' mansion which has had computers mounted on walls and on the fridge door. If that catches on more, it will be a big waste of energy. Personally I don’t really think the ipad will have many green effects.
