Tesla Motors Filing for IPO
Tesla Motors is easily one of my favorite car companies out there. They only currently have two models, the Roadster and the Model S, but their cars are light-years ahead of anything the big car manufacturers are offering. Both of their models are stylish and fast, yet get several hundred miles per charge.
In an effort to raise more funds to continue manufacturing its vehicles, Tesla is filing for a $100 million IPO. The goal is to starting making more Roadsters and having the Model S out by 2012 with the help of a federal loan along with these investment funds.
Their new Model S will cost $50,000 after a federal tax credit and are in the works of making a more practical model in the not so far future. As with any stock and especially a smaller company like Tesla, there is a chance in losing money. If you are interesting in buying stocks, this is one company that looks really promising though.

I love Tesla’s cars as well. The sleek designs look so good… Not only that, but they are green cars that look really great, tooo!
This IPO is definitely good news for the electric car industry. For electric cars to become more viable, they need to fill more than just the basic sedan niche. If there are more better looking electric vehicles, that can go a long way towards making them more common on the road.
I saw their sports cars covered during an episode of The Universe show on History Channel and was very impressed by it. It not only went fast but had a very exotic and different sound to it.
Till then,

I’ve visited the Tesla Motors website and seen the Roadster. My god, it’s one hell of a car. It’s so stylish. I’ve never seen anything like this before. The website says that the car goes very fast and it’s acceleration can easily match that of a Porsche. The icing on the cake is that it’s run on an electric powered battery.
We are finally getting out of the era where we have to depend on oil and gas.
I think in a decade we will be finally making more progress to keep Earth safer from smog emissions. And I have to say, there’s a smile on my face just thinking about it!
While it is great that we are gradually moving away from gas powered vehicles, we have to remember that this is not the perfect solution. While your vehicle may not be directly polluting as much anymore, you also have to consider how the electricity usage affects the environment. Many areas still produce their electricity from non-environmentally friendly practices. So even if you drive an electric vehicle, you should be doing your part by limiting your driving and following other green driving practices.
