Green Toys Big Hit This Holiday
The Holidays are rapidly approaching us. Parents are scrambling to buy the latest toys for their kids. But did you know that green toys are actually a huge hit this year?

In the recent past, it has been difficult to get a hold of toys that are made of environmentally friendly products and/or made in the US. More and more toy makers are embracing the idea of “green toys” this year. It’s not just a push by consumers, it’s actually demand has risen for them. With so many toys being made without regulation and using dangerous products, it’s really no surprise.
Since the products are made with more sustainable products and are usually not made in China, there comes a price, literally. The cost on these products is usually higher than the cheap plastic toys you would normally find. Usually they are wood toys or those made from recycled or sustainable products. They may be more expensive, but people are still buying these toys. Why might you ask?
Well, the obvious answer is that they are better for the environment ans safer for their kids. Another answer that I have heard from those who buy these toys is that they are much more durable. They are made with higher quality and usually the products they are made from (i.e. wood) are much stronger. So in the end, you could actually be saving some money since you don’t need to replace toys that break easy.
The Future
So what exactly is the future of “green toys”. If the trend continues like it has this year, we will see a good portion of the toys being sold made with environmentally friendly products. It will be hard to take over the toys we find on the market today. Many still like the fact that they are cheaper and kids will still be wanting the latest cheap toy of their favorite TV or movie character. If the prices of “green toys” can come down some as they already have and if recalls continue to happen, we may see them take a larger share of the market.

It’s great that there are now environmentally friendly options for so many products. Now it is up to consumers to make the right choices. Then maybe eventually the less environmentally friendly companies will take notice and clean up their act.
There were some games that we liked playing on http://savecreatively.com/Games.aspx They’re all free and a lot of them teach valuable lessons which is especially nice for kids….What better way to learn than by playing?!
i agree with you about China products. parents have to be more careful, kids find attractive this unhealthy things but actually they’re not. some toy companies only care about their gain, for this reason parents should a little bit picky.
I think the market as a whole will continue to trend into the green products. Good to see that the demand is also headed that way. Our future depends on it thats all I can say really.

I am totally understand of this nice article on green toys.I think it is a good suggestion with have a new implement.
It’s good to see this trend. Toys in recent years have really skimped on quality and using safe materials too. I remember my wooden toys from when I was young. They were so well-built, you could still play with them today as if they were new.
Good point about how these products are safer for kids too. There have been many recalls recently of products that contained too much lead or other harmful substances. As kids are especially susceptible, their toys need to be quite safe.
The china’s gaming range are becoming huge and I hope it will rock in Christmas holidays again. China’s booming in game sector and leaving all to guns behind.
great informative post for all..
This time there is found heavy cold in India than last years.
Particular in Haryana is much effected. I went for Akshardham temple in haryana(delhi) I noticed heavy cold
Great trend to see! I would feel a lot better about my child playing with toys like this.
I like this and using safe materials too
I love the idea that companies are finally embracing the idea of producing products that are not harmful to the environment. What is also a great think to hear is that consumers are asking for more and more green products. This shows a good change in trend.

Today I read a post and much impressed”Malaysian bloggers are collectively earning an average monthly income of RM70,000, according to Malaysian daily Berita Harian.” There is a heavy craze for blogging as well as nice option for best earning…..
I would say such type of environment friendly things are essential at present. Most of the countries banning China’s toys for their inferior quality.Nice sharing…
The Environment becomes much polluted In Toys and construction material production like bricks construction……….
Nice Sharing. Such Types of environmental things are very essential.
Excellent Tips. Really i love your Share. The Environment is a lot polluted in toys.
The best thing we can do to make our toys environmentally friendly is ensuring that they are reused when possible. There are many charities that would gladly accept used toys.
Thank you for this great post. If you have more tips on how to start local green
initiatives, you can submit a video about it to the GreenopolisTv YouTube channel. Let the

Great site. Good information. Like it. Will be back to read more soon.
Green toys is really the need off late.Because gaming industry booming and tiny tots play with toys even sometime eat a bit part of toys and suffer with serous prob.Such toys make environment unhygienic.
Another way to ensure your toys are more environmentally friendly is to try to avoid the fads. For example, they may have a favorite movie right now, but will they still like that movie in 6-12 months? So maybe avoid buying them toys related to temporary trends like that.
No doubt i agree with you and green toys are just one way we are making steps to making our planet healthier. If you are looking for an awesome and unique toy that is both safe for the child and for the environment, then consider green toys. The way they are manufactured is also eco friendly, which makes toys like this extra special. There is no better way to help the environment than by purchasing your children green toys.
It is wonderful that green toys are becoming so popular as gifts for children!
Thanks for the excellent tips and we all need to take care of the environment because we will all suffer collectively if we don’t.
These are really cool! I especially like the idea of clean energy powered toy cars. This could save batteries while teaching kids, early on, about the importance and power of alternative energy!
You can buy some baby toys from the dollar store and tie them together for hanging in the cage. You can ad some little spray to the toys that you hang so it allows the bird to play with the toys while it also gets a treat from it. PetSmart sells some mineral block PARTS, parts meaning they come in a package ready to make tasty toys out of them. You can also but some of them off of ebay if you can find some anywhere else. I find my parakeets and cockatiels as well love those bamboo chews, and will tear them apart in hard playing all the time. Those bamboo toys look like those toys people have called thumb cuff. Those thumbcuffs come in different colors to make them more atrractive to the birds.
cool truck… need buy him for my little bro
Environment friendly toys can help save our earth and are also safe to be given to children. Thanks for this blog.
Let all be Green. Save the Planet.
That’s great! Good for our children, good for us, good for environment
the key is making our toys environmentally friendly and ensuring that they are reused when possible.
I think the market as a whole will continue to trend into the green products. Good to see that the demand is also headed that way. Our future depends on it thats all I can say really.
Just found your blog via the treehugger forums. You have lots of great content here, I hope you continue to post sometime in the future!
As far as green toys, I think they are well worth the higher price most of the time. I love the toys from the company “Plan Toys.” I bought my preschool aged son some trains and blocks from them and have my eyes on some more of their stuff for Christmas. They have high quality products that will last…and decompose once it’s life is over. Quality over quantity for toys is the motto in our house.
I remember those days that I used to blog about green product and along with it is the toys (wooden toys) that help your children improve in green way.
This is a great measurement to preserve nature while teaching younglings a proper way of giving themselves a education while playing.
The fact that kids usually only play the toys for a while only, makes it useless for the toys to be durable.
green toys that cost much will not be favorable to the parents too. i wonder how well such toys be sold in the market.
How are wood toys “green”? I have to assume that they are made from recycled wood. I am not surprised that the quality would be better then the cheap crap made in China. It is just so hard to pass up the cheap stuff because you can buy more toys and what is fun for the kids is opening the presents. I catch myself thinking about buying the cheap stuff.
If the cost is high, the idea behind will not hinder the consumers from purchasing them.
Its a good idea to work over the environment protection. If we are working like this one day our environment would be pollution free..
I like the fact that manufactures are starting to develop toys developed with green materials – I think they would certainly be a big hit, why would it not. A classic toy but developed with in a greener manner!
Great Read
The spreading of green toys from all over the world would be just perfect. It’s quite sad we had that china s**t on market…
The prices would be high because the toys are made by the products that can be recycled and sustainable. As the cost increases for these toys for recycling them that’s why the prices are more than the plastic toys. But today we are struggling with the problem of Global Warming and we are trying to clean our environment so if we compare the environment and its value the prices are i think more cheap.
Green toys are now very popular and also very helpful to improve the condition of environment.
I bought one of them this Christmas.
Yes,they’re more expansive than other toys, but buying them you can also teach to your kids how to respect the environment
some toy companies only care about their gain, for this reason parents should a little bit picky.
The green toys is one a good move towards in the process of masking the environment pollution free.
off course…..If we use green toys we can save humans health from distress….
Green toys are very useful in protecting the environment:)
Green Toys in Brazil are mostly made of recycled wood and metal. And most are hand-crafted..
I like the products that are making by the companies in keeping the environment into consideration.
I’m working on a project and I have to come up with ideas of how a business could go green. My business is Toys-R-Us and I have a few ideas but I’m stuck. Anything will help.
Thanks!
There is no point to manufacture durable toys since the kids nowadays are more easily satisfied with any kind of toys. And if you get something durable and fun for them now, most likely they will only play for a while and switch to other toys easily.
Ever thought of edible toys? Lol. Anything I support the idea of going green by first transforming the toys into green products too.
Great idea in making kids’ toys going green.
In future, all toys should be recycled and handcrafted. Back to the ancient time.
I love the idea that companies are finally embracing the idea of producing products that are not harmful to the environment. What is also a great think to hear is that consumers are asking for more and more green products.
LOVE the idea and hope they catch on! It’s cool to see more and more entities creating products from materials on the second time around!
Hey, we just launched a green site promoting recycling, re-using and sustainability and would love your association! Check out our blog ‘The WormFarm Chronicles’… Right now we’re talking about worm composting in the dining room.

Yeah! With all the toys made in other countries from who knows what, it’s refreshing to hear people are starting to get it. These toys are not only retro cool but they are totally recycled and upcycled from milk jugs. We sell them on our website too: http://www.gottabgreen.com/tots.html
LOVE IT!
Buy Green Products.
I mainly buy wooden toys for children. I think they are beautiful and last for so much longer… I think it can be passed on generations compared to the plastic ones that break easily.
It’s not just the inferior toys that China is bombarding us with. I had to buy a new tail light bulb for my truck last week and this week it went bad. I had to look around awhile before I found an American made bulb.
I purchased a hand crafted wooden toy whilst in Germany last year as a christmas present, it was literally hand made on the christmas market stall. It was like something out of a christmas film and I couldnt resist. On giving the present to my neice her face light up, especially when I told her the elfs made it
I think wooden toys are good for children because they are unbreakable
some wooden toys can be breakable then I can’t 100% agree for your statement.
Its a good idea to work over the environment protection. If we are working like this one day our environment would be pollution free..
