My state isn’t on there this year, but we had a pretty bad drought a few years ago. All of the lakes that the cities use for water supply dramatically dropped. It was crazy to drive by them and see so much mud, where there used to be water.
Whats messed up about this situation, however, is that during the drought, everyone was encouraged to conserve water. Now, people are still conserving water, so the government is going to raise the rates, to make up for the reduced water usage.
Wow, Tiger that is interesting. I wonder if they are using the funds to prevent something similar in the future? Or if they are trying to promote conservation by going straight to the pocketbook pinching? It would be interesting to learn how the additional money is going to be used.
There are several areas that experience water shortages that are not listed because it is assumed their shortages are not attributed to global warming, so that is also a possibility.
This is somehow a sign for the people to start realising how important is water saving.
