As a student myself, I always try to recycle, I live on campus, and our school does a great thing by having recycling bins in every hallway, so we all have a chance and opportunity to recycle =D, it’s quite fun to recycle too, and mentally rewarding!
These are all very good tips for students to be more green. I think insisting on organic foods is too difficult though. Organic food often costs twice as much as non-organic. A student living on a budget usually can’t afford this.
@ ATV Auction, It varies from student to student, but I would personally be willing to pay a higher price for higher quality green foods, but I know not all students willing to pay a higher price.
I agree with Jean. You may be paying a slightly higher premium for the food, but usually the quality is far superior. Going local can be just as good as buying organic, but be a little less expensive. There are so many local farms to buy fresh produce from at most times during the year. They may not always be organic, but usually follow the same standards though they may not be organic certified.
This list cover up all the important and first level steps that students can follow easily to go green. Good way to give a head start to them.
