Green Search Engines

I’m trying to get my workmates to think about offsetting their cabon emmissions at work and want a simple solution that everyone can do. i’ve heard about green search engines but don’t know what’s best? anyone?

That is great to hear that you are wanting to offset your carbon footprint. There are many great green search engines out there that can aid you in your quest. Some purchase carbon offsets (www.clickforcarbon.com)others donate to charity (www.climategift.com) or with http://www.TheEcoKey.com we remove pollution from the environment.

So it is all a matter of trying them out and seeing which one appeals to you.

Not bad, but I tend to use GreenLinkCentral.com. They have search results that have already been filtered so it saves me time. I like that they suggest giving to the Sierra Club and they don’t post ads to non-green topics.

Ecosia launched today, and is dubbed the greenest search engine in the globe. It is backed by Yahoo and Bing, with 80% of its revenue going to the WWF. Every search saves 2 square metres of rainforest. Try it out at http://www.ecosia.org!

One search engine that you don’t have listed is My Green Search Engine http://www.mygreensearchengine.com This site has only green websites listed on it. This is a true green search engine and is not using google, bing or yahoo’s database. Each search uses very little energy compaired to the other sites.
